American Legion Park (Legion Square)
This small, shaded park in downtown Sikeston, between East Front Street and Malone Avenue, has a paved center square with
benches, a veteran’s monument, and a drinking fountain. It hosts numerous Downtown events and activities.
Armory Park
This is a 2.41 acre park located behind the National Guard Armory, bounded by Matthews Street on the north, Maple on the east,
and Kathleen on the south. Armory Park has playground equipment, picnic tables, park benches, a drinking fountain, and
regulation horseshoe pits.
Central Park
This 3.77 acre park is located at the northwest corner of Edmondson and Prairie Streets. This park has playground equipment,
a drinking fountain, picnic tables, and one picnic shelter with a small charcoal grill. (top of page)
Clayton Park
This is a 3.3 acre park on Butler Avenue at Dempster and Carroll Streets. This park has playground equipment, picnic tables, a
drinking fountain, and a large picnic shelter with two charcoal grills. (top of page)
Dudley Park
A 6.37 acre facility located just off Applegate Street, this park offers a good selection of playground equipment including a
pre-school age modular system, two picnic shelters with charcoal grills, a restroom facility, a drinking fountain, a basketball

Malone Park
The City’s oldest park, this 2.34 acre park is bounded by Scott and Stoddard Streets on the east and west, North and Center
Streets on the north and south. It features playground equipment, park benches, picnic table, a glider swing, a drinking fountain,

Mary Lou Montgomery Park
The Joel Montgomery family donated this 5 acre park located on Illinois Avenue south of Fire Station #3 on Ables Road.
It features a .4 mile walking trail, picnic shelter with charcoal grill, restroom facilities, modular playground equipment, and a

North End Park
This 0.59 acre triangular patch of ground at the north end of Hawthorn Drive offers neighborhood walkers a shady respite on park
benches. It also has a bench swing. (top of page)
R. S. Matthews Park/C. P. Wing Lake
The newest addition to the Park Division is R. S. Matthews Park, a 26 acre tract at the east end of Colonel George Day Parkway,
which was donated to the City by Scott Matthews and his sister, Elizabeth Brunt. It features a 7 acre fishing lake with a boat
ramp (no gas motors allowed) and a 0.5+ mile walking track – with plans for a restroom, picnic shelters, and playground
equipment. The lake is stocked by the Missouri Department of Conservation with catfish, bluegill, and bass. (top of page)
Roberta Rowe Park
Stretched over 7.82 acres at the south ends of Alabama Street and Sunset Drive, this park includes a lighted softball/baseball
field, two lighted basketball courts, one unlighted court, a picnic shelter with charcoal grill, drinking fountain, picnic tables,
modular playground unit, swing set, restroom facility, and a quarter mile walking trail. (top of page)
Rotary Park
This 11.5 acre park at the north end of Industrial Drive is the City’s most popular spot for family reunions, church picnics, and
company outings. This park, an on-going service project for the Rotary Club, features three picnic shelters, charcoal grills,
picnic tables, a drinking fountain, a restroom facility, playground equipment, horseshoe pits, a lighted softball field, and two sand
volleyball courts. A circle drive 0.65 miles long that runs through the park is popular with walkers. (top of page)
Sikeston Recreation Complex
This is a 196 acre tract located between the airport and North Ingram Road. The City’s most complete outdoor recreational
facility, it offers a large selection of playground equipment for handicapped children, a tot lot for preschool children, four lighted
tennis courts, two sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, six soccer fields, two unlighted T-ball fields, four lighted softball fields
for men, women, and girls’ programs, a lighted Junior Babe Ruth baseball field, two outdoor basketball courts, a 4.6 acre fishing
lake that is stocked three times during the summer, a half-mile fitness trail with nine exercise stations with security lights, five
picnic shelters with four charcoal grills, drinking fountains, picnic tables, seven restroom facilities, five concession stands, and
an Honors Board recognizing volunteers for service to youth sports and recreation. (top of page)
Veterans Park
A 4.8 acre park, this facility was constructed and is maintained through the efforts of a volunteer Veteran’s Park Committee without funding from the City. It is dedicated to area veterans, featuring a large, lighted granite monument and flag display. A brick wall leading from the parking lot to the memorial is inscribed with the names of veterans from the Sikeston area. Of special interest to park visitors are the M-60 Battle Tank, a F-4 Phantom Jet, a 105mm Howitzer from WWII, a U.S. Navy 1955 Sioux Helicopter, a World War II destroyer anchor, and a monument erected in honor of the Army National Guard soldiers of Charlie Company, 1140th Engineer Battalion for service in Iraq. VFW Stadium
This lighted baseball facility sits on 7.14 acres just off Malone Avenue at Mitchell Street. The stadium features grandstands with
aluminum bleachers with handicapped access, a restroom/concession stand, dugouts, a lighted scoreboard, a batting cage,
shaded press box, picnic tables, and a dressing room building. (top of page)
YMCA of Southeast Missouri
The YMCA is a worldwide organization with a history of serving communities for over 150 years. The YMCA of Southeast Missouri
was established in 1995 and opened its first facility in 1998. The current facility located at 511 Taylor Street was opened in 2009.
The YMCA’s purpose is to build strong kids, strong families, and a strong community. Facilities include a fitness center
equipped with more than 35 cardiovascular pieces, a full line of circuit weights, and large dedicated space for free weights; an aquatic center that has a 6-lane pool that is 25 yards long and additional pool features: 15 foot high water slide, zero depth entry,
underwater therapy bench, water bubblers and spray feature; a three-lane wide walking track; a gymnasium equipped with a wood
surface used for basketball, volleyball, and other court sports; a wee care nursery; locker rooms; sauna; and other facilities.
